Arguably the most majestic sound known to man is that of a dominant bull elk screeching in the vast open mountain range of the West. That sound can make the hair on your arms stand on end, and send chills down your spine. The tone, the feeling, and the excitement that it creates has become an obsession of the bugle.
This week’s Friday Flick is “The Linguists” produced by Sitka Gear. This incredibly well filmed documentary follows the progression of those who wished to speak to these magnificent creatures. It shows the beginning of the elk calling industry, and takes you through the importance of passing on the tradition of hunting. You don’t want to miss this film as the obsession of the bugle transformed the way we hunt and experience elk.
